Aviva Jifei Xue is a New York–based clothing label rooted in thoughtful craftsmanship and materiality. Produced in close collaboration with a small manufacturer in Beijing and family-run mills across Japan, the brand reflects an enduring dialogue between traditional and modern design.
What began as a personal project, reinterpreting classic menswear pieces in softer, more fluid silhouettes, has evolved into a practice deeply connected to the people and processes behind each garment. Today, Xue works closely with a female-run, third-generation textile mill in Nagoya; a 70-year-old ceramic button maker who's a professor; and traditional dyers on the island of Amami who preserve centuries-old techniques.
Each collection honors these relationships, combining natural fibers, botanical dyes, and meticulous craftsmanship to create clothing that feels timeless, intentional, and human.
